Could not get data off my friend's hard drive. Simple fix was to replace the controller board. They recommended $1000 lab recovery. Totally unnecessarily. I did this at home.

If you own an Apple product Max help is a must, I have been to other so-called Apple repair facilities in the past and I was never happy, Max help has repaired three of my computers and I couldn't be happier
